A 5-gas emissions analyzer measures five exhaust gases — typically HC (hydrocarbons), CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), O2 (oxygen), and NOx (nitrogen oxides) — commonly used for vehicle emissions testing. Well Checked's Zensory.ai™ platform is purpose-built for upstream oil and gas continuous monitoring, focusing on fugitive methane rather than tailpipe exhaust analysis.

Conventional exhaust analyzers typically measure CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), HC (hydrocarbons), and O2 (oxygen). For upstream oil and gas environments, platforms like Zentinal IQ™ extend continuous analysis to fugitive methane at the wellsite, providing fugitive emission detection and documented emissions quantification suited to wellsite operations.

CO2 analyzers typically use infrared absorption spectroscopy — CO2 molecules absorb infrared light at specific wavelengths, allowing concentration measurement. Well Checked's LWIR-based OGI cameras operate on a similar infrared detection principle, extended to methane plume imaging, enabling day-and-night continuous gas detection at a substantially lower cost than traditional mid-wave IR solutions.

The platform operates as a three-tier architecture. Zensory.ai™ can reduce reliance on expensive quarterly LDAR inspections with continuous 24/7 autonomous monitoring when the specific alternative method and monitoring plan are EPA-approved and applicable. Unlike periodic snapshot inspections, the platform provides continuous emission records, operator-configured reporting logs, and near real-time alerts — enabling operators to acknowledge, dispatch, and mitigate within 24 hours to help reduce potential compliance exposure.

Field installation and commissioning typically takes approximately 2 days per site, during which the AI Site Learning cycle establishes the normal operational baseline.
